    Popular businesswoman Adebisi Edionseri, ‘Cash Madam,’ dies at 89

    A popular socialite and businesswoman, Chief (Mrs.) Khadijah Adebisi Edionseri, popularly known as Cash Madam, has died at the age of 89.

    The renowned businesswoman died on Sunday, after a brief illness.

    Announcing her passing on behalf of the family, one of her children, Dr. Adebayo Adebowale, expressed gratitude to God for her remarkable life.

    The statement reads, “With deep gratitude to Allah for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Princess Kadijat Abike Adebisi Edionseri (née Elegbede), who returned to her creator on 5th January 2025 at the age of 89, following a brief illness.”

    He described her as a beacon of grace, dignity, and faith; Adebowale highlighted the profound impact she had on her family and community.

    “Her life was a shining example of grace, dignity, and unwavering faith. Princess Edionseri touched the lives of many through her wisdom, kindness, and dedication to both her family and her community”.

    “She taught us the importance of love, resilience, and faith in Allah, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations,” he said.

    The family mentioned that her funeral would take place according to Islamic rites on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 4:00 pm at her residence in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Abeokuta.

    The late Edionseri, popularly called “Cash Madam,” was widely admired for her philanthropy, business acumen, and steadfast commitment to the socio-economic development of Egbaland and Ogun State.
