A social media commentator, Shehu Gazali Sadiq, has called for the ”modernisation of Islam” in the US and all over the world.
In a statement on X on Thursday, Sadiq berated the widespread ”barbarism” perpetrated by culprits linked to Islam.
Sadiq made the remark while reacting to the gruesome murder of 15 people in New Orleans, United States.

The perpetrator was identified by the FBI as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old from Texas.
Reacting to the incident, Sadiq, a Muslim faithful, mentioned that ”it is time for Islam to modernise” and end ”this mediaeval barbarism.”
Alleging that the religion is ”feeding terrorism,” Sadiq said, ”An Islamic terrorist rammed his truck into a crowd in New Orleans, USA, killing about 15 people on New Year’s Day.
”It’s time for Islam to modernise and become a religion of humanity instead of this mediaeval barbarism. Islam is feeding terrorism. You may insult me as you like.”
