The city of Warri came alive with a carnival atmosphere on Thursday as Mr. Daniel Mayuku, the Board Chairman of the Delta State Security Trust Fund, received a brand-new Toyota Prado SUV—the first grand prize in Globacom’s Festival of Joy promotion.

The prize presentation, held at Gloworld, Delta Mall, Warri, was a colorful event attended by hundreds, including prominent dignitaries and excited residents.

Among those present to hand over the keys were Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, and Chief Anthony Ofoni, Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area. The event also featured electrifying performances by the Ema Dance Troupe.

Speaking at the event, the 57-year-old winner expressed initial disbelief at his fortune. “When I received the first call that I won a Prado in the Glo Festival of Joy promo, I thought it was a scam. I even told the caller not to call me again,” Mayuku recounted. “However, after receiving calls from friends and confirming with my contacts at Glo, I realized it was true. Today, I stand here with the car presented to me. Globacom truly delights its subscribers every year. They remain the best.”

Other winners also walked away with life-changing prizes, including tricycles, generators, sewing machines, and grinding machines.

Ovueve Efejiro, a Ughelli native who won a tricycle, expressed gratitude. “This Keke will help my family, and my brother will start using it for commercial purposes immediately,” he said. Felix Gabriel, who won a generator, added, “Globacom always remembers Nigerians with their annual promos. Thank you, Glo!”

Hon. Emomotimi Guwor praised Globacom for its consistent generosity. “Globacom is a network that empowers Nigerians. The people of Delta State are grateful, and I hope to win someday. Kudos to Glo and Dr. Mike Adenuga for keeping this tradition alive,” he said.

Mrs. Anwuli Efejuku, Head of Licensing and Operation at the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Delta State office, lauded the transparent nature of the promo. “We witnessed the raffle draw conducted openly here in Warri, and today the winners have received their prizes. Congratulations to all!”

Globacom’s Regional Manager, Warri, Mr. Frederick Oiboh, explained the promotion’s participation process. “New and existing subscribers can join by dialing *611# and recharging. Different prize categories require cumulative recharges ranging from N500 for grinding machines to N100,000 for the grand prize, the Toyota Prado.”

The event was graced by notable personalities, including Hon. Karo Goru Jonathan of DESOPADEC, representatives of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, and Nollywood stars Ese Eriata and Gordons.

The Festival of Joy promo moves to Lagos next, where another Toyota Prado, along with other prizes, awaits lucky winners.
