Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum has resigned after four years in charge.
His resignation was announced in a letter dated September 12.
The Waldrum cited his wife’s health concerns as the cause for his resignation from the job.
“It’s been a very difficult few weeks following the Olympics, with my wife’s health issues and the worries that obviously come with that. After much thought and consideration.
”I am hereby resigning my position as Head Coach of the Super Falcons. This will allow the NFF ample time to find the next manager to take over this incredible squad.” The letter reads.
Randy Waldrum, who became Falcons head coach in 2020, led the side to the semifinals of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
He also led the record-breaking African champions to a strong showing in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where they captivated spectators until being ousted on penalties by England in the round of 16.
