Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is laying the groundwork for a more formidable nation with bright future prospects.

Mrs. Tinubu stated at a luncheon organized in her honor by the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) in Sierra Leone that the current administration in the country has the best interests of Nigerians at heart, as evidenced by the bold policies and programs put in place by the government.

She said, “I can assure you. You can trust my husband. Nigeria is like a fresh baby that we have to nurture. We hope to lay a good foundation that generations will be able to build upon. We are in it to make sure we can turn our nation around “.

According to a press statement published on Monday by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady praised Nigerians living in Sierra Leone for their solidarity despite coming from diverse tribes and religious backgrounds.

This, she believes, should be followed by Nigerians at home.

Mrs. Tinubu was in Sierra Leone at the invitation of the country’s First Lady to mark the United Nations Day for the Prevention and Healing of Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence.

Earlier in his remarks, Abiodun Oyebode, President of NIDO in Sierra Leone, spoke on behalf of the others, expressing confidence in Tinubu’s administration and pledging to continue to support the government.

He also praised the First Lady’s work through the Renewed Hope Initiative for all that it has accomplished thus far.

He asked her to work with other African First Ladies to duplicate projects such as the empowerment of Armed Forces widows and orphans in their respective countries.

Oyebode urged Mrs. Tinubu to assist the Nigerian community in Sierra Leone in completing the construction of a Nigerian hospital in the country.

Other Nigerians who spoke demanded that the government ensure that Nigerians in the diaspora are included in future voting processes.
