In a bid to intensify their protests against the Glazer family, Manchester United fans are planning an hour-long sit-in protest at their first two home games of the season.

While the takeover saga of the club by new owners goes on as the season rapidly approaches, The 1958, a group that accuses the American owners of ’18 years of ignorance and silence’, stated that they will protest at the Holy Trinity statue outside Old Trafford before United’s Premier League opener against Wolves next Monday.

‘We want answers and the full removal of the Glazer family from every foundation of our club’, a spokesperson said.

The group further stated that if the situation is not resolved, another sit-in protest will be held for 60 minutes during their next game against Nottingham Forest.

Last season, fans coordinated multiple anti-ownership actions, including marches to the stadium from various sites throughout Manchester.

During pre-season, some fans demonstrated outside the Old Trafford Megastore on the day of the presentation of the United home shirt kit to convey their point to the boardroom.

United indicated in November that the Glazers were willing to sell the club as part of a plan to identify strategic alternatives’.

Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have long been considered the frontrunners, although talks are still ongoing ahead of the new season.

Manchester United fans are increasingly concerned that the Glazers will not sell and will instead seek financing for minority ownership.
