Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari, Adamawa State’s resident electoral commissioner (REC), has been approved for immediate suspension from duty by President Muhammadu Buhari, pending the outcome of an investigation into the REC’s conduct and actions during the Supplementary Election in Adamawa State by the Inspector General of Police.
The President, Muhammadu Buhari also ordered the Inspector General of Police to conduct an urgent inquiry into Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari and to bring charges against him if he is proven to be responsible. This was done via a statement from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
The President also ordered an investigation by the Inspector General of Police, the Director-General of the Department of State Services, and the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps into how their officers supported Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari’s behaviour and actions, and if they are found to be at fault, appropriate disciplinary measures to be taken against them.
