Dr. Chinyere Igwe, a member of the House of Representatives and supporter of Atiku Abubakar, was allegedly detained in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with $500,000 in his possession.
Igwe, the federal candidate for Port Harcourt Constituency 2, was apprehended on Friday during a stop and search along Aba Road.
The arrest was verified by Rivers Police Command spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko, who added: “A statement on it will be published soon.”
