On Wednesday, gunmen ambushed the campaign convoy of Oforchukwu Egbo, the PDP candidate for the Enugu North/South Federal Constituency.
The incident took place in the state’s Enugu South Local Government Area at Eke-Otu in Amechi Awkunanaw.
One of the bus drivers in the convoy was slain by the thugs.
According to sources, his body was burned along with the car.
You may recall that on Wednesday night in Amechi, some gunmen also ambushed and killed Mr. Oyibo Chukwu, a senatorial candidate for the Labour Party in the Enugu East senatorial district, along with five of his followers.
All efforts to speak with the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, proved abortive as he could not be reached by telephone at the time of filing this report.
