American tennis legend and 23-time Major champion Serena Williams has been baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses

Serena who announced her transition from the tennis court last year September had earlier expressed her desire to focus on her family.

The 41-year-old is reputed for her outstanding achievement in her career that spanned over two decades, winning 23 grand slam titles.

The legend has undergone Jehovah’s Witness baptism, which is a significant milestone for the 41-year-old tennis legend who recently announced her retirement from the sport.

The 23-time Grand Slam winner was baptized on Sunday, January 8, at the Jehovah’s Witness Assembly in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA.

She was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness by her family while her daughter Olympia is being brought up in the doctrine as well.

“Being a Jehovah’s Witness is important to me, but I’ve never really practiced it and have been wanting to get into it.” – Serena had said in an interview with Vogue.

Serena is reputed for her outstanding achievement in tennis throughout her career that spanned over two decades-winning 23 grand slam titles, the most by any player in the open era and second-most of all time.

No comebacks from retirement for Serena Williams.

Meanwhile, Ms. William’s former coach Patrick Mouratoglou is not expecting the 41-year-old tennis legend to make a U-turn on her decision to retire from the sport.

She left the door open to further Grand Slam appearances in her public statements on what was perceived to be a retirement announcement in August.

However, Mouratoglou who spent ten years as Serena’s coach, believes the 23-time Grand Slam winner’s wide-ranging interests will prevent any comeback.
