FRSC officials are working to reduce the traffic on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Four persons were burnt to death this morning on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway following an accident involving an IVECO Truck and a Toyota bus belonging to G. Agofure Motors.

The bus LND 991 XN had burst into flames, injuring 12 other persons.

Both the bus and the truck, NSR 213ZD, were heading to Lagos when the accident happened around Mowe in Ogun State, leading to traffic gridlock, on both sides of the road.

According to Mr Clement Oladele, the Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, all the injured have been taken to the Redeemed Church of Christ Hospital.

Although Oladele said the FRSC personnel and other traffic and emergency agencies were trying to untangle the gridlock, he advised motorists to use alternate routes out of and into Lagos.

Travellers leaving Lagos have been advised to use Ikorodu or Sango Ota routes, while those connecting Lagos have been advised to avoid Mowe.
