    Man utd players to honour calabar victims in their next match
    Man United players will wear black armbands on Sunday in memory of the seven fans who lost their lives recently in Calabar, Nigeria.

    United welcome Swansea City on Sunday, April 30, 2017.

    A high-tension cable which fell inside the viewing centre in Calabar killed seven people and injured several others who were watching a game between Manchester United and Anderlecht in an Europa League fixture. United went on to win the game 2-1 and progressed into the semi-finals 3-2 on aggregate.

    Manchester United players will wear black armbands on Sunday, April 30, to mourn the seven fans that died at a viewing centre in Calabar, Cross River state, Nigeria.

    The players will wear the black armbands when they take on Swansea at Old Trafford on Sunday, April 30.
    “The #MUFC players will wear black armbands on Sunday in memory of the seven fans who lost their lives recently in Calabar, Nigeria,” Manchester United said in a statement on Twitter.

    The morning after the incidence, Manchester United took to Twitter to mourn the fans who died.
    “Our thoughts go out to the United fans, their friends and families affected by the tragedy in Calabar, Nigeria, yesterday,” the Manchester United statement reads on Twitter.

    United will face Spanish club, Celta Vigo in the semi-final of the Europa League.

    On Thursday, a 10-man United side held city rivals Manchester City to a 0-0 draw at the Etihad in the race for a top four finish.
