Fatima Hamman, an aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) says AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency deserves better representation at the National Assembly.

Ms Hamman who has canvassed the 22 wards within her constituency explained that the people of AMAC/Bwari need better representation in the National Assembly, hence her reason to contest.

She is calling on youths in the area to galvanise and support her candidature as the APC begins primaries; “I believe I am the right person to represent my people because I am competent and widely accepted in my constituency. I know what it means live and do business here, I embody the values, norms and morals of this constituency and I think this is the right time for proper representation of our people.” she said.

Explaining how she has interacted with people across her constituency, Ms Hamman said, “I have listened to and I am here to address the concerns and demands of my people. I’m taking this step for the future our youths for the passion of my community.

“I believe from what I have seen that our infrastructure can be better, we can revamp out dilapidated health facilities, bad roads, reduce unemployment and improve education.

Asked how she will achieve this feat, Ms Hamman said, “through vocal bills that I will push in the House of Representatives. I agree that the FCT is in the minority but I have interpersonal skills that I can use to get other lawmakers to support bills for AMAC/Bwari,” Ms Fatima Hamman said.

“I will also bring my personal relationships to fore. I will attract partners and donors who will help us to ensure that we provide basic healthcare free of charge and education free of charge too. There is no reason why we should have out of school children in a metropolis like ours,” she added.

Ms Fatima Hamman said she will key into the Federal Government programmes such the Conditional Cash Transfer and National Home Grown School Feeding Programme; “I will use my office to ensure that the poorest of the poor in AMAC/Bwari benefit from the monthly stipends given to the poor and that our pupils get federal government’s one free meal a day. I am already talking to people to ensure that our standard of living improves,” she said.

Ms Hamman who studied in countries across the world including the UAE, UK and US is confident that the party delegates are ready for a change. “I must say that our party and the delegates are ready for a change. Many women like myself are contesting because we know we can change the fortunes of the FCT.

“I am convinced that myself and my team will work tirelessly to ensure that the yearnings of our people are met. We will hold town hall meetings at least once in a month across the wards to know what the people want and to do it,” Ms Fatima Hamman noted.
