Telecommunications company, 9mobile, has denied incorrect and deceptive claims that it will cease operations in Nigeria.

The announcement was made by 9mobile’s management in a statement issued on Friday in Lagos.

9mobile claimed that the reports were completely false and intended to cause unneeded fear among its valued subscribers.

“We understand that some customers have recently faced challenges, particularly with Mobile Number Portability, a service that enables seamless network switching.

“We want to clarify that 9mobile has never restricted customers from porting to other networks,” it said.

The telco is committed to providing fair, transparent, and customer-centric services and is fully compliant with industry regulations.

A temporary technical issue affected Mobile Number Portability (MNP) services, but it has been resolved.

Minor delays may still occur due to ongoing system optimisations, but the telco is actively working to improve the user experience.

“As a proudly Nigerian brand, we embody the resilient spirit of our people and remain steadfast in our commitment to overcoming challenges.

“We acknowledge the temporary service disruptions some customers may have experienced in different locations.

“However, we assure you that these disruptions are part of a broader transformation effort aimed at modernising our infrastructure and improving overall service quality,” 9mobile said.

It stated that its continued investments in network enhancements and service growth would shortly result in major improvements, assuring dependable connectivity for consumers, organisations, and communities.

According to the corporation, despite the obstacles it was facing, 9mobile is making considerable progress and is hopeful about the future.

“We remain dedicated to providing exceptional service and keeping our subscribers connected to limitless opportunities,” it said.
