A social media post by Ace Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly called 2Baba, announcing a split from his wife, Annie Idibia, on his Instagram page has been deleted minutes after publication.
The now-deleted post revealed that the couple had been separated for a while and were currently filing for divorce.
It expressed 2Baba’s intention to share his side of the story, stating that he wants his fans to know the truth about his situation.
“Hello to my beautiful people of all FEDERATIONS,” the post reads.
“W”ELL THIS THING I HAVE TO SAY IS SHORT BUT ALSO LONG…. I AND ANNIE MACAULAY HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FOR A WHILE NOW. AND CURRENTLY FILED DIVORCE… I WOULD GRANT A PRESS RELEASE SOON TO SAY MY STORY.
“NOT BECAUSE IT IS ANYONE’S RIGHT TO KNOW ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE; BUT BECAUSE I LOVE MY PEOPLE AND I NEED THEM TO KNOW MY INNOCENCE OR OFFENSE. STAY BLESSED MY PEOPLE. I LOVE YOU.”
Minutes after the post was deleted, 2Baba claimed that his Instagram account was hacked.
“My Instagram account has been hacked, efforts are being carried out to take back control #onelove!” Idibia wrote in another post.
2Baba and Annie tied the knot in May 2012. They have two children — Olivia and Isabella.
This isn’t the first time the couple’s marriage has faced public scrutiny.
In 2021, Annie publicly called out 2Baba for his alleged infidelity, accusing him of having an affair with his baby mama, Pero Adeniyi.
The singer had previously been in relationships with Pero Adeniyi and Sumbo Ajala-Adeoye.
While Adeniyi has three children for 2Baba, Sumbo shares two kids with the singer.
