Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Baba, has addressed the public reaction to his recent appeal for aid, stating that the clamor is endangering his wife, Natasha.

He claimed the situation had been exaggerated and advised fans to remain calm.

The Afrobeats musician, who had previously been linked to a now-deleted Instagram story in which he appeared to seek assistance, distanced himself from the post, stating he did not publish it. He claimed that the viral message had caused unwarranted worry in his home.

In a video posted by an X user, #AsakeGrn, on Wednesday, 2Baba said the situation was “getting out of hand” and described it as dangerous, noting that he knows what fans are capable of when emotions run high.

He said, “This is getting out of hand; this is a dangerous situation. I know what fans can do, I know what people can do, and this is putting Natasha at risk.”

He pleaded with fans, friends, and family to “cease fire” and enable the couple to address their concerns discreetly. He stated that while disagreements in marriages are not uncommon, the current frenzy around his marriage has gone beyond acceptable limits.

“It is not fair on anybody to face this kind of thing, so I need everybody to calm down. I need everybody to cease fire; we are going to resolve all these issues. People dey get issues for house, no be today, but this is getting out of hand. Friends, family, everybody, cease fire; I am perfectly fine. I did not post that post, please; I am okay.”

This follows previous claims that the singer was briefly held by UK police following an alleged altercation with Natasha during his October tour.

The issue arose during an Instagram Live session with presenter Daddy Freeze, when the couple was heard arguing in the background, fueling speculation of a marital crisis and increasing concerns about the singer’s well-being.
