Bayer Leverkusen attacker Victor Boniface was named the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month on Friday for the fourth time in a row.
The Super Eagles star defeated Xavi Simons and Merlin Röhl in the poll to win the prize for players under the age of 23, according to the Bundesliga on Friday.
Despite not scoring in the league during the month of November, Boniface was given the honor for his substantial goal contributions.
“Instead, he chipped in with two assists in the 3-2 win away at Hoffenheim on Matchday 10. The Nigerian was his usual shot-happy self with 11 attempts, but he is much more than just a classic center-forward,” the league wrote about the 22-year-old.
“He also set up three attempts for teammates, meaning he was directly involved in a shot on goal every 18 minutes on average,” they stated.
Since the 2016–17 season, the DFL German Football League has given the Bundesliga Rookie Award to the finest young player in the Bundesliga each month. This coveted prize recognizes young football players’ exceptional talent and promise.
