Nigerian Grammy-award-winning singer Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has announced plans to take a break from the music scene.
In a series of Instagram posts on Sunday, the ‘Ojuelegba’ singer said that he will be taking a four- or five-year break from music, adding that he is thinking about taking up football or golf.
The post, which he wrote in pidgin English, partly reads, “Back in 4 years, make una papa chop him money small, or maybe five, or I fit still go dey play ball now.
“Or make me start playing golf, FIFA, or wrestling.”
Furthermore, he said he is “taking time out to enjoy with” his “loved ones.”
This is not the first time Wizkid has announced a musical hiatus. In 2019, the singer announced his intention to take a hiatus from music via his X account, tweeting, “Gone till March! Thank you very much.”
