Serie A champions Napoli have complained that Victor Osimhen has not returned to Italy and they expect him to begin the intensive phase of his recovery programme next week, despite the fact that his contract issue remains a concern.
The 24-year-old attacker has been out since October 13 after suffering a hamstring muscle injury in Nigeria’s 2-2 friendly match with Saudi Arabia. He has missed the club’s last three games in a row.
Since his injury, Osimhen has remained in Nigeria, leaving Napoli waiting for his comeback. Meanwhile, much has been published about his contract negotiations with the club, casting doubt on his future.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Napoli talisan still hasn’t returned to Italy yet, and Napoli wants him to enter the intensive phase of his recovery work next week, allowing them to start planning for his return.
The 24-year-old suffered the same muscle injury on September 7 and was back on the pitch by October 12.
