Usman Sahabi, a journalist, has been kidnapped by gunmen in Yola, Adamawa State’s capital.
According to family sources, an Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation employee who is also the Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the state House of Assembly was abducted at his Wuro Chekke house at 1 a.m. on Friday (today).
About five gunmen allegedly forced their way into his room and snatched him away at gunpoint.
According to authorities, no ransom has been sought thus far.
Confirming the incident to the media, Superintendent of Police Suleiman Nguroje of the Adamawa State Police Command said the police had deployed all operational assets to ensure the Journalist is retrieved alive.
SP Nguroje, who stressed that the police will not rest until he is retrieved alive, urged the family and the public to stay calm since everything is being done to ensure his safe return.
