A sugarcane vendor and an unidentified military commander were killed in a single car accident in Kwara State on Sunday.
The accident was reported to have occurred at one of the state’s checkpoints in Moro Local Government Area.
According to one eyewitness, the tragedy occurred when a DAF trailer truck lost control and drove off the road, striking four people.
According to the source, two of the victims died, while the others merely suffered minor injuries.
Frederick Ogidan, sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), acknowledged the situation on Sunday.
“It was a lone accident involving a DAF truck that lost control and hit the victims,” Ogidan said.
“They were all males but two of them died while the other two sustain injury.”
