Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe is on the verge of joining Spanish giants Real Madrid for a new transfer record of €250m.
He has been strongly linked with Madrid over the last two years with reports claiming he wanted to link up with French compatriot, Karim Benzema who left Madrid for Saudi Pro League this summer.
According to Yahoo News report via Planetsport, Real Madrid are closer to landing him in a deal that will see the 10 times Champions League winners cough up €200m upfront, with €50m in bonuses also included.
Mbappe, 24, has stated that he will not renew his PSG contract when it expires next summer and could Madrid for free. With the situation at hand, PSG could decide to cash in on the France international now instead of risking losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season.
It would make Mbappe the most expensive transfer in history, eclipsing the €222m that PSG paid Barcelona for Neymar in 2017.
