Veteran Nigerian actor, Ojo Arowosafe, popularly known as Fadeyi Oloro, is dead.
The actor known for his vibrant roles in Yoruba movies died Tuesday evening following a protracted illness. The actor had reportedly battled undisclosed ailment for years.
Born September 15, 1957, rose to fame in the 80s and late 90s for his trademarked herbalist character. He is best known for his incantations especially when he stars as a villain in Yoruba movies. He often wears a black face and a red jacket adorned with charms.
He starred in numerous classics for which he will forever be immortalized by, somw of which include; Olodo Oru, Alagbara Ojo Kan, Yanponyanrin, Inubibi, Akoni Méfà, Anike olufa and one of his greatest accomplishments’ ‘Ija Abija ati Fadeyi Oloro” a clip that would surely bring back a tear in the eyes of the GenY’s and millennials.
His first TV series appearance was in “Arelu,” a popular Nigerian television series at the time. Aside from this series, Ojo Arowosafe appeared in over 100 other films and counting.
Fadeyi Oloro was married with children. He was recently bedridden as his health deteriorated due to an unspecified illness.
He inspired many actors that came after him.
