Nollywood actress, Hilda Dokubo, has been appointed as the chairman of Labour Party in Rivers state, a statement from the party chairman says.
She succeeds Dienye Pepple whose tenure expired as the caretaker committee chairman.
In a statement signed by the national chairman of Labour Party, Julius Abure, and addressed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the party appointed a secretary and publicity secretary too.
“Following the tenure expiration and dissolution of the caretaker committee led by Dienye Pepple, a three-man steering committee is hereby appointed,” the statement read.
Also appointed along with Dokubo are Pastor Philip Nyechi Loveday as secretary and Gogo Wellington as publicity secretary.
Abure noted that the appointments are for one month.
“Consequently, this letter supersedes any other letter relating or connected there to,” Abure added.
