The Independent National Electoral Commission has published some election results from the governorship and state legislature elections.
According to media reports, opposition parties and some Nigerians chastised INEC for failing to immediately upload results on its Result Viewing portal during the presidential and National Assembly elections.
Despite the Commission’s explanation that technical glitches hampered result transmission, many critics refused to accept it.
However, just days before the March 18 elections, INEC announced that the technical issues had been resolved and that election results would be transmitted immediately.
Checks by journalists on Saturday showed that in Ogun State, two results were submitted; in Plateau State, 12 results were submitted; in Zamfara State, 11 results were submitted; Rivers State, 80 results were submitted, and for Lagos State, 85 results.
