Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate has released his United States visa page to quell fake news that he was denied visa.
Tinubu who is expected to visit the US following his engagements at Chatham House, United Kingdom, reiterated that news of his visa rejection was false.
In a post by Festus Keyamo, the official spokesperson for APC 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, the APC presidential candidate was left with no other option but to disclose his personal information.
Reacting on Twitter, Keyamo said, “For mischief-makers who peddle unfounded rumours about Bola Tinubu being denied visa to the US, you leave us with no option but to show you his current visa (that has always been renewed since time immemorial).
“This is for the misguided ones who believe these rumours,” he wrote along with a screenshot of APC presidential candidate’s passport page.
Attempts to further fact check the visa page by Twitter users caused more uproar as some persons raised question over the acronym of Nigeria on the visa page.
Chronicle NG reports that the US quotes Nigeria as NRA and not NGA as some persons claimed in response to Keyamo.
Checks also revealed that the US visa issued to Tinubu appears to be valid despite some US visa check screenshot circulated online.
