A 15-member Inter-Ministerial Committee has been set up by the Federal Government of Nigeria to plan it’s 62nd Independence Day celebration.
The Committee was set up, according to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, to plan, organize, and carry out all approved activities appropriate for Nigeria’s 62nd Independence Anniversary celebration on October 1, 2022, as well as record all planned activities for posterity.
The SGF also explained that in addition to coaxing organizations and individuals important to the programs’ effective execution, the Committee would also carry out all additional tasks that may be necessary.
He stated that sub-committees would also be set up to help in carrying out other specific assignments from the Inter-Ministerial Committee, and that the Committee would convene periodically to provide essential direction on all the activities planned for the Independence Day celebration.
The Inter-Ministerial Committee is made up of the following people:
i. Secretary to the Government of the Federation
ii. Minister of Information and Culture
iii. Minister of Interior
iv. Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning Member
v. Minister of Foreign Affairs
vi. Minister of Federal Capital Territory Administration Member
vii. Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs Member
viii. National Security Adviser
ix. Special Adviser to President on Policy and Coordination Member
x. Permanent Secretary, State House
xi. Permanent Secretary, General Services Office Member
xii. Inspector-General of Police
xiii. Director-General, Department of State Services Member
xiv. Commander, Guards Brigade
xv. Permanent Secretary, Political and Economic Affairs Office Member/ Secretary.
