The PDP has expelled Kashamu Buruji and three others

Nigeria’s main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party have expelled the senator representing Ogun East, Kashamu Buruji.

Expelled alongside Buruji were three chieftains of the party, Honourable Segun Seriki, Samiu Sodipo and Engr Bayo Adebayo.

The decision to expel the quartet was reached at the PDP national secretariat in Wadata Plaza, Abuja during the 80th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Party.

A tweet by the party read, “NEC considered and approved the expulsion of Senator Kashamu Buruji, Mr. Samiu Sodipo, Engr. Bayo Adebayo and Hon. Segun Seriki from the PDP.

“The expelled members are from the Ogun State Chapter of the PDP.”

The PDP did not cite the reasons for the expulsion of some of its strong members in the Southwest and in Ogun state in particular.

Although Kashamu who is the Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government has had arunning battle with some of the bigwigs of the party including former governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
