Prophet G. K. Samuel, general overseer of Christ Is Able Apostolic Mission has declared that the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, is part of Nigeria’s problem.
Prophet Samuel popularly referred to as Omo Arugbo Orun condemned the association for its political leaning, urging it to do away with partisan politics.
In a statement signed by the clergymen, he condemned the religious divide between Christians and Muslims, stressing that, religion should not be about violence.
“CAN for instance, is not functioning as a body. I, as a prophet I don’t know the stand of CAN in all what is happening in the country.
“Whether CAN have their own political candidate or group because CAN’s major interest should be fighting for the welfare of the churches not interfering in politics and if there is anything happening in the government that is affecting the churches, it is the duty of CAN to address it but now CAN is zero.

“The association is part of the people creating problem for the country. If you accuse Muslims of trying to Islamize the country through Islamic Banking, then Christians too should try and Christianize the country through free schools, agricultural development and other social amenities.
He noted that Christian leaders are not doing enough to eradicate poverty and enlighten their members. “With what is happening in the country, if people like Bishop David Oyedepo Pastor William Kumuyi, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Prophet T.B Joshua, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome just to mention a few can come together and say, lets move poverty out of this country even if it is through farming, let us donate acres of land for farming, Nigeria will experience what we called a dramatically turn around,” Prophet Samuel said.
