Senator Shehu Sani has suggested President Muhammadu Buhari appears to be helpless because he does not have a firm grip on the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Sani, a member of the APC who is representing Kaduna Central District suggested that governors have taken the party structure from the President.

The senator who came into prominence as a civil rights activist claimed that state governors now control the party structure leaving President Muhammadu Buhari helpless.

“It appears that the governors have taken grip of the party and the president seem helpless,” he said.

For example, he noted that Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna has no regard for President Buhari or the hierarchy of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

He also hinted that the crack in ruling party will lead to an exodus of members hinting that the party the party has not treated members fairly.

“Adams Oshiomole is a good doctor brought to treat a cancerous case that has reached its fourth grade,” Sani said of the newly elected national chairman of APC.

“We cannot continue to be in that party that has failed to treat us fairly and objectively,” he added hinting that he could exit the party.

In some quarters, Senator Sani has been applauded for revealing that a Nigerian senator earns N13.5 million as running cost monthly.

Nigerians have often debated how much a senator earned but the answer was kept a secret until he revealed the figures in an interview with TheNEWS magazine.
