Senator Shehu Sani denies dumping APC for SDP
Senator Shehu Sani has dismissed reports that he has switched from the All Progressives Congress, APC to the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
Sani who represents Kaduna Central in the senate said he will announce publicly if he decides to switch from the ruling party.
“I’m still in the Broomcity FC (referring to the symbol of the APC) as a left winger and not a defender,” he wrote on Facebook.
Using football transfer terminologies, he continued, “The rumour that I’ve changed club to White Horse Atletico (referring to the symbol of SDP) and that they offered me the position of a striker is untrue.

He then added that, “If there will be any club transfer before the end of the season, you will be openly notified.Thank you.”
Sani has had a running battle with the governor of Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai and is expected to challenge him as governor in the 2019 polls.
Sani who was a civil rights activist turned politician revealed that a Nigerian senator receives N13.5 million monthly as running cost.
The revelation blew open one of the tightly keep secrets in Nigeria’s senate.
