Seun Adigun, Ngozi Onwumere and Akuoma Omeoga are the first Olympic bobsled athletes for an African country and also the first people to ever represent Nigeria at the Winter Olympics

DStv and GOtv subscribers will have the opportunity of watching the 2018 Winter Olympics live when it kicks off on 9 February.

The event will be broadcast live on DStv across four dedicated SuperSport channels: SS11, SS12 and the soon-to-be launched pop-up channels, SS13 and SS14.

GOtv MAX and GOtv Plus customers will also be treated to a piece of the action with Winter Olympics news and highlights on Select 3.

The 2018 Winter Olympics, being hosted in PyeongChang, South Korea, will see Nigeria and Uganda make their debut.

DStv subscribers will witness history in the making when the Nigerian trio of Seun Adigun, Ngozi Onwumere, and Akuoma Omeoga twist their way round the PyeongChang ice track in a bobsled for the first time, while Ghana’s Akwasi Frimpong will roll down the ice track head first in the skeleton.

These events will air on SS11, SS12, and SS13 available to all active DStv Premium, Compact+, Compact and Family customers plus SS14, which will also be available on the DStv Access package.

SuperSport 11 and 12 will air in high definition (HD) while SS13 and SS14, the designated as the 24-hour Olympics news channel, will be standard definition (SD).

SuperSport 11 will kick off its broadcast on 5 February with build-up content (archive footage from previous Winter Olympics games).

The channel will also carry the opening ceremony on 9 February from 12pm. The Olympics news channel, SS14, goes live on Wednesday, February 7 from 4am. The launch for SS12 and SS13 is set for Thursday, February 8 from 1am.

All four channels will also be available on the digital platforms, the DStv Now Mobile App and website and the SuperSport website.

Select events not carried on the four dedicated channels will be aired across various SuperSport channels, space permitting.
