Steven Seagal investigated over claim of sexual assault
Action movie actor Steven Seagal is being investigated over an allegation of sexual assault, police have said.
Officers in Los Angeles said it referred to an incident which is alleged to have taken place 13 years ago.
An LAPD spokeswoman said the investigation was being handled by its robbery-homicide division.
“All we can do is confirm that there’s an open investigation from 2005,” she said, confirming it was an allegation of sexual assault.

The 65-year-old actor has faced accusations of sexual harassment since the scandal over producer Harvey Weinstein began.
Actress Portia de Rossi claimed that during an audition in Seagal’s office, he unzipped his leather trousers while discussing off-screen chemistry.
My final audition for a Steven Segal movie took place in his office. He told me how important it was to have chemistry off-screen as he sat me down and unzipped his leather pants. I️ ran out and called my agent. Unfazed, she replied, “well, I didn’t know if he was your type.”

Star of The Good Wife, Julianna Margulies, claimed she had been to Seagal’s hotel room when she was 23. She said she thought it was for a casting, but found him alone.
She “sort of screamed” her way out and was “unscathed”, she told radio station Sirius XM.
Those claims led actress Jenny McCarthy to revisit an allegation that she had been sexually harassed by Seagal in 1995.
She claimed he asked her to remove her clothes during an audition for Under Siege 2, despite the part not requiring any nudity.
A spokesman for Seagal has previously denied that allegation to The Daily Beast.
