Arsenal Ladies have signed Bayern Munich and Scotland winger Lisa Evans.

Evans, 25, signed for German side Bayern in July 2015 from Bundesliga rivals Turbine Potsdam, who she joined from Glasgow City in 2012.

Lisa Evans helped Bayern Munich win the Bundesliga title in 2016

The former St Johnstone trainee has won 48 caps for Scotland, scoring 12 goals, and is part of their Euro 2017 squad.

Evans won the women’s Bundesliga with Bayern in her first season at the club, in 2015-16. They finished runners-up to Wolfsburg last season.

Details of the length of her Arsenal contract have not been disclosed.

Evans joined Glasgow City from St Johnstone Girls in August 2008.

In February 2012 German champions Turbine Potsdam invited Evans for a trial, after spotting her in their 17–0 UEFA Women’s Champions League aggregate win over Glasgow City.

On 12 June 2012 it was revealed that she had signed a professional contract with Potsdam.

Turbine’s veteran coach Bernd Schröder extended Evans’s contract by a further two years after being impressed by the start she made: “It means we’re able to secure the long-term services of a player who has developed a lot over the last few weeks and months.

Lisa has fitted in really well to the philosophy of the club as a footballer and as a person, and is an enormous benefit to the team.”

In April 2015, Evans announced that she had signed a three-year contract with Turbine’s Frauen-Bundesliga rivals FC Bayern Munich, to begin the following season.
